Donations

The UU Military Ministry Great Lakes is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Illinois corporation. It is entirely supported by grants and plate sharing opportunities from local Unitarian Universalist congregations and individual donations.

Expenses are primarily for worship supplies and literature that the recruits take back to their barracks and on to their ship or duty station. Bless All Who Serve, the UUA’s collection of readings for military personnel and their families, is available on the table for any recruit who wants it. The Chaplain tells us it is the recruit’s second most requested religious publication after the Bible.

Recruits who stay after the service and show a special interest in Unitarian Universalism are given a copy of the UU Pocket Guide or Becoming. Both publications, as well as UU brochures and other materials, must be purchased at list price from the UUA Bookstore.

Please consider making Unitarian Universalist Military Ministry Great Lakes a special collection or donation from your congregation, or making a personal donation. By doing so, you not only support the spread of our Unitarian Universalist faith, but you also provide worship opportunities for recruits to our nation’s military.
